Woman Bitten In Face By Octopus While Posing For Photo

TACOMA, Wash. (CBS Local) — What started out as a fun picture ended with an octopus biting a woman’s face with poisonous venom.

— What started out as a fun picture ended with an octopus biting a woman’s face with poisonous venom.

Jamie Bisceglia said she saw an opportunity for an unusual picture after she met up with some fishermen Friday who had hooked an octopus during a fishing derby in the Tacoma Narrows in Washington state. Bisceglia put the small octopus on her face and posed.

“It was a photo contest in the derby. And so, crazy me, hindsight now and looking back, I probably made a big mistake,” Bisceglia told CBS affiliate KIRO.

The octopus grabbed with Bisceglia’s face with its suckers and then bit her on the face.

“It had barreled its beak into my chin and then let go a little bit and did it again,” she said. “It was a really intense pain when it went inside and it just bled, dripping blood for a long time.”

Bisceglia said she powered through and fished for two more days before seeking medical help.

“And I’m still in pain. I’m on three different antibiotics,” she said. “This can come and go, the swelling, for months they say.”

Bisceglia said the painful experience taught her a valuable lesson about handling a live octopus.

“This was not a good idea. Hindsight looking back. I will never do it again,” she vowed.

Bisceglia said she did get some revenge. She took the octopus home and cooked it and says it was delicious.

Brooklyn Mosque Robbed Of $2,000 Meant To Support Sunday’s Celebration Of Eid Al-Adha

Brooklyn Mosque Robbed Of $2,000 Meant To Support Sunday’s Celebration Of Eid Al-Adha

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A Brooklyn mosque that prides itself on giving back was recently burglarized — and it was all caught on camera.

— A Brooklyn mosque that prides itself on giving back was recently burglarized — and it was all caught on camera.

As seen on video, one suspect poses as a worshipper and then breaks into the donation box. That money was supposed to fund a celebration this weekend for the Muslim faith’s biggest holiday.

Around $2,000 was stolen from the Muslim Community Center in Sunset Park, director Mohamed Bahe told CBS2’s Lisa Rozner on Wednesday.

Surveillance video shows two suspects prying the donation box open with tools at around 7 a.m. on Monday, grabbing the cash and stuffing it in every pocket they have.

“I was just like, wow. I was like, seriously? Like now, a couple of days before our holiday?” Bahe said.

Bahe discovered the money missing from the mosque, which is located on 3rd Avenue near 53rd Street, on Tuesday night.

“The lock, they put it somehow just like this, so when I passed by and I literally just touched this and everything fell down like this,” Bahe said, demonstrating how the thieves left the donation box. “And they used some kind of chemical or liquid to freeze the lock and also the hatch.”

Just before the morning break-in, footage shows one of the suspects, dressed in a hoodie, pose as a worshipper during the 4 a.m. prayer.

Another surveillance camera shows the suspect leave the prayer and go downstairs, Rozner reported. He is seen walking away and, presumably, he hid somewhere downstairs. After worshippers leave, the second suspect somehow gets in the building, which is also home to the non-profit Muslims Giving Back.

“These brothers, we forgive them. Whatever their motives were, we wished they had come in and asked for help,” volunteer Mohammad Hassan said.

“This puts us in the minus,” community center board member Hani Hajir said.

The money was supposed to support this Sunday’s celebration of Eid al-Adha, the biggest holiday on the Muslim calendar. Mosque leaders hope the suspects are caught before they prey on another house of worship.

The upcoming celebration is supposed to provide free food and carnival rides for the whole community. The mosque has set up a GoFundMe page to make up for the stolen money.

Married Teacher Gets 5 Years In Prison After Performing Oral Sex On Female Student

Married Teacher Gets 5 Years In Prison After Performing Oral Sex On Female Student

Teacher sentenced to five years for performing oral sex on teenager

LinkedIn/Bergen County Prosecutor's Office

A married former elementary school teacher has been sentenced to five years in prison for performing oral sex on a 15-year-old student.

The affair took place in 2015 and Lauren Coyle-Mitchell was sentenced on Friday (August 2) after pleading guilty in January to aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

The 36-year-old, from New Jersey, was teaching second grade at Dr Lena Edwards Academic Charter School in Jersey City at the time.

The former teacher is said to have exchanged explicit messages over text and email with the student during the 2014-15 school year before their interactions turned physical. Coyle-Mitchell’s indictment says she performed oral sex on the teenager at least once between October 1, 2014 and June 15, 2015.

According to the New York Post, the married woman was arrested in June 2015 after a class trip to Washington, DC, during which staff at the school observed what they considered to be inappropriate contact between Coyle-Mitchell and the 15-year-old.

Coyle-Mitchell was released on bail and attempted to clear her name in a Facebook post, which read:

Tragic accusations have been brought up against me. They are not true, and my name will be cleared. Thank you to all the people who know me and know I would not do anything that horrible.

The 36-year-old was arrested again a month later on contempt of court charges because she allegedly violated a court-issued no-contact order and attempted to get in touch with the 15-year-old.

Prosecutors explained the female student received two telephone calls from a restricted number as well as a text message in which the sender used Coyle-Mitchell’s ‘pet name’ for the girl. The teenager did not respond.

Investigators discovered Coyle-Mitchell had researched how to restrict her number while making a phone call and had downloaded an application which allowed her to make a call without being identified.

At the time, the accused woman’s attorney claimed she was merely a mentor to the eighth-grader and said she was suffering from an anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.

NorthJersey.com report Coyle-Mitchell acknowledged her actions were ‘were emotionally and morally damaging’ when she pleaded guilty in January.

According to the New York Post, Coyle-Mitchell will spend at least four years and three months in state prison and she is set to be under parole supervision for the rest of her life.

The married woman will also have to register as a sex offender and give up her teaching license, and she can never seek public employment. The State Board of Examiners suspended Coyle-Mitchell’s teaching certificates last May.

Woman Left With Agonising Burns On Vagina After Controversial ‘Steaming’ Procedure

Woman Left With Agonising Burns On Vagina After Controversial ‘Steaming’ Procedure

A Canadian woman was left with second-degree burns on her vagina after attempting a controversial ‘steaming’ procedure.

The unnamed 62-year-old suffered the burns after being advised by a traditional Chinese doctor to sit over boiling water infused with herbs to treat her uncomfortable vaginal prolapse.

Medics at the University of Calgary documented the case in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada, where Dr Magali Robert, lead author of the report, explained vaginal steaming has been used for centuries in some Asian and African countries.

The woman, who was of Chinese origin, was considered to be healthy aside from a stage four vaginal prolapse, which had been present for nine months. According to the NHS, vaginal prolapse occurs when one or more of the organs in the pelvis, such as the uterus, bowel or bladder, slip from their normal position and bulge into the vagina.

It most often happens due to childbirth or pregnancy but can also be caused by obesity, menopause, strenuous exercise or medications.Steam

The 62-year-old tried multiple pessaries, devices which go into the vagina to relieve symptoms, but they had failed. She was on a waiting list for surgery when she turned up at an emergency unit complaining there was blood in her vaginal discharge.

Chinese Workers ‘Forced To Eat Live Fish And Drink Chicken Blood’ After Failing Work Quotas

Chinese Workers ‘Forced To Eat Live Fish And Drink Chicken Blood’ After Failing Work Quotas

Weibo

A horrifying video has emerged which shows workers at a Chinese construction company being forced to eat live fish and drink chicken blood as punishment for not meeting quotas.

The gruesome footage, filmed in Guizhou province, shows a man reaching into a bucket and handing live mud fish to workers, who can then be seen eating the creatures; pained grimaces on their faces.

As if this wasn’t bad enough, the workers then proceeded to drink down a substance reported to be chicken blood.

As per the Shanghaiist, the construction company owner has denied there was anything wrong with this undeniably grim punishment, arguing the staff were all shop owners whose participation had been voluntary.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time cruel and humiliating punishments have been dealt out at Chinese workplaces.

In 2016, The Paper reported on a video which showed employees at a Jilin car loan company being forced to crawl on all fours through the street after failing to meet their sales targets.

After the footage went viral, the loan company boss claimed the staff had crawled along the street voluntarily, arguing he had just wanted to set a ‘good example’ for his employees. He also had the gumption to suggest the discipline had actually boosted company morale.

Another incident occurred in 2018, when a group of suited employees from Xiamen were instructed to kneel on an overpass for a full hour as penance for leaving tasks incomplete.

Each employee had a sign placed in front of them which read, ‘Kneeling down voluntarily on the bridge for one hour as a punishment for unfinished tasks’.

After the footage went viral, Jimei University law school professor Ju Donghong, law school teacher told Xiamen Daily:

Their company might be legally responsible for such punishments if it was found to have coerced its employees to do so. If it’s not voluntary, then it violates their rights as people.

Other reported punishments at businesses in China have included workers being forced to drink toilet water and eat gourd, an unpleasantly bitter type of vegetable.Punishment China Live Fish Chicken Blood Quota

Weibo

Workers rights in China leave plenty to be desired. According to anti-poverty NGO The Borgen Project, independent labour unions are illegal in China, with the government only endorsing one union, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU).

As ACFTU is tied so closely to the government, many workers feel it is an unreliable advocate for their rights. However, labour activists and NGOs are continuing to fight for change.

There were 600 reported worker strikes or protests in 2017 alone, with The Borgen Project noting estimates for unreported strikes in recent years could well be even higher.

10 Richest Women In The World

10 Richest Women In The World

10 Richest Women In The World

There are a lot of very wealthy women in the world, and each of them have incredibly interesting stories. One of them is Ann Walton Kroenke, who is worth $7.3 billion dollars.

She is the daughter of James Walton, who was one of the co-founders of Walmart. The other person who co-founded it was her uncle, Sam. Other women who are worth a great deal of money are Denise Coates, Eva Gonda Rivera, and Pauline MacMillan Keinath.

Keinath’s net worth is estimated to be approximately $6.9 billion, while Coates is worth $8.5 billion, and Rivera’s net worth is $6.3 billion. As rich as they are, there are lots of women who have much more money than they do. Here are the 10 richest women in the world in 2019.

10 Iris Fontbona - $14.4 Billion

Iris Fontbona’s net worth is $14.4 billion thanks to her husband, Andrónico Luksic, who left Fontbona and their three sons a company, as well as a large fortune, after he passed away. The company was Antofagasta Plc, which is now the seventh largest copper producer in the world.

But that is not the only company that is keeping this family wealthy. They also own 81 percent of another company, which is called Quiñenco. Quiñenco controls three other companies, including a brewing company and a shipping company.

One might think that in order for a person to become that rich, they first have to graduate college. But that’s not always true, since Luksic dropped out.

9 Abigail Johnson - $14.9 Billion

Abigail Johnson is currently worth a total of $14.9 billion. A few years ago, she became the CEO of Fidelity Investments when she took over for her father.

In 2016, she became the chairman of that company. Johnson owns a large portion of the company, which is why she is one of the ten richest women in the world in 2019.

Fidelity Investments was founded by her grandfather, whose name was Edward Johnson II. He helped the company get up and running in Chicago in 1946. Johnson worked with the company while she attended college, and she became a full-time employee after she graduated.

8 Gina Rinehart - $15.4 Billion

Gina Rinehart is currently the richest person in Australia, and she is worth $15.4 billion dollars. Rinehart currently serves as the chairman of a company that is named after her father, Lang Hancock. The company is called Hancock Prospecting, and it owns stakes in iron ore mines. The company also collects stakes from that iron ore mines as well.

This company is responsible for much of Rinehart’s success. But that is not the only way she makes a living. Rinehart the third largest cattle producer in Australia. Her father’s estate was nearly bankrupt until it was taken over by her.

7 Charlene de Carvalho-Heineken - $16.3 Billion

Lots of people love Heineken beer, which is part of the reason why Charlene de Carvalho-Heineken’s net worth is $16.3 billion, making her one of the richest women in the world today. She owns a large part of the company, and she is now the executive director of it.

Carvalho-Heineken was the sole heiress to the Heineken fortune when her father, Freddy Heineken, passed away in the early 2000s. Until that happened, she was not very active within the company. She studied law, and did not plan to be a big part of Heineken International. But she changed her mind after she inherited part of the company.

6 Susanne Klatten - $19.2 Billion

Susanne Klatten is involved in multiple businesses, and she is worth $19.2 billion. She inherited a large amount of her wealth from her father, Herbert Quandt, who was the person that saved luxury automobile company BMW from going bankrupt.

Klatten owns a piece of that company, but that is not the only thing keeping her rich. Klatten is one of the most wealthy women in the world because she is also the chairman and sole owner of Altana, which is a chemical and pharmaceutical company. However, she does not own as much of BMW as her brother, Stefan Quandt, does. He currently has ownership over 23.7 percent of the company.

5 Laurene Powell Jobs - $21.5 Billion

Laurene Powell Jobs has an estimated net worth of $21.5 billion, which has a lot to do with the man she used to be married to. Jacobs was married to Steve Jobs. Jobs was the CEO, chairman, and co-founder of Apple, and Jobs inherited his stakes on the company after he passed away. She also inherited the stakes he had in Disney as well.

The story of how Jobs came to own a portion of Disney is very interesting. He was one of the people who funded Pixar Animation Studios in the 1980s. That company was eventually purchased by Disney, which means that he owned part of Disney.

4 Yang Huiyan - $21.8 Billion

Yang Huiyan is the owner of fifty-seven percent of Country Garden Holdings, and her net worth is estimated to be $21.8 billion. A large part of her portion of that company was something she got from her father, Yeung Kwok Keung.

Huiyan became the richest person in China after she graduated from Ohio State University. Huiyan supposedly added over $6 billion to her wealth in just seven days, which is outstanding, to say the least. She is not the only one in her family that is involved in Country Garden Holdings. Huiyan’s sister, Ziyang, is a part of the company as well.

3 Jacqueline Mars - $28.8 Billion

Nearly one third of Mars (the world’s biggest candy making company) is owned by Jacqueline Mars, and she is currently worth $28.8 billion. Those who enjoy buying Snickers and Milky Way candy bars contribute to her wealth, since those are two of the products that are made by this company.

They also make certain kinds of gum, as well as packaged foods and dog foods. The Mars family does not speak to the press very often, but that does not mean Jacqueline doesn’t stay busy. She worked for her family’s company for 20 years, and she was a board member until 2016.

2 Alice Walton – $49.5 Billion

There are multiple heirs to the Walmart fortune, and Alice Walton, who is worth $49.5 billion, is one of them. That is because she is the daughter of one the company’s co-founders, Sam Walton.

Walton has three brothers, and two of them, Rob and Jim, own a portion of the company as well. But she has not always been as involved with Walmart as they have. While Jim and Rob were working for the family company, she was giving lots of her attention to the world of art. In 2011, Walton opened Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Arkansas.

1 Francoise Bettencourt Meyers - $52.2 Billion

The person who is currently the most wealthy woman in the world is Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, whose net worth is estimated to be $52.2 billion. Her grandfather, Eugène Schueller, was the founder of L’Oréal.

Schueller is also the reason why many people can dye their hair, since he invented commercial hair dye. Meyers, as well as her family, owns 33% of L’Oréal stock.

Woman's Toilet Explodes After Fart Gases Ignited By Lightning Florida Family's Toilet Explodes After Lightning Strikes Septic Tank

Woman's Toilet Explodes After Fart Gases Ignited By Lightning Florida Family's Toilet Explodes After Lightning Strikes Septic Tank

Plumbing history is thought to have been made this weekend as lightening ignited the gas in a couple’s septic tank and made their toilet explode.
Naturally, this event took place in the home of bizarre headlines – Florida.
The lightening burst the septic tank while the couple were in bed on Sunday (August 4) and as a result the toilet in the house shattered, ‘sending porcelain airborne like a missile’.
The entire plumbing system at MaryLou Ward’s home was ruined and so she and her husband turned to A-1 Affordable Plumbing Inc. to help get their bathroom back up and running.
The business shared images of the disaster zone on Facebook and wrote ‘no more pooping while it’s storming outside.’
So why exactly did the toilet in the house explode, I hear you ask? Jordan Hagadorn, owner of A-1 Affordable Plumbing Inc. told USA Today:
Methane gas is gas caused by the number two. The natural gas is from crap, literally.
The septic tank’s lid was only an inch underground and it’s thought the short distance between the surface and the tank could have contributed to the possibility of it exploding. As lightening struck the tank it acted as the perfect catalyst to ignite the natural methane gas, which travelled up the sewer pipes and led to a big mess in the bathroom.
Speaking to WTHR about the explosion, Ward said it was ‘the loudest noise [she’d] ever heard’.
She added:
We got out of bed and came over here, and the toilet was laying on the floor.
The Facebook post revealed porcelain had penetrated into the wall as the toilet exploded; even parts of the windows had blown out from the force of the gas.
It took Hagadorn three hours to assess the damage on Monday and he expects fixing the toilet to be a big job. Neither he nor his father, who was a plumber for 40 years, have ever seen anything like the explosion. The plumber said it’s probably ‘a first in plumbing history.’
GUARANTEED YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD A STORY LIKE THIS.No more pooping while it’s storming outside.Lightening struck this…
Hagadorn recommended people don’t use the toilet during a thunderstorm and Ward is certainly on board with that idea.
She said:
I’m not taking any showers and not going to the bathroom. Not when it’s thunderstorming and down here, that’s a lot.
Lightening isn’t the first thing that springs to mind when someone mentions having explosive gas and toilet problems but it’s certainly a more dramatic take on the situation!

Tension as twin blast kill three, injure eight in Borno

Tension as twin blast kill three, injure eight in Borno

The emergency services on Wednesday revealed that two female suicide bombers killed three civilians and wounded eight in a suspected Boko Haram attack in northeast Nigeria.

According to reports, the twin blasts tore through a crowd late Tuesday in the town of Mafa, some 50 kilometres (30 miles) from regional capital Maiduguri.

“The female bombers killed three people and wounded eight others,” Bello Danbatta, head of security for the State Emergency Management Agency in Borno state, told AFP.

The assailants entered the town among a group of local women who had gone to fetch firewood for cooking, Danbatta said.

Local district spokesman Adamu Mohammed, who gave the same toll, said the bombers waited until around 8:30 pm (1930 GMT) before launching their attack.

Boko Haram has been waging a 10-year insurgency in northeast Nigeria that has seen it repeatedly use female suicide bombers to attack soft targets such as mosques, markets and bus stations.

Many of the bombers are young women and girls.

The last suicide attack was in June when a triple bombing outside a hall where football fans were watching a match killed at least 30 people.

Boko Haram’s decade-long campaign of violence has left some 27,000 people dead, displaced over two million across the region and spilt over into neighbouring countries.

The jihadists have splintered into two major factions after fighters loyal to the Islamic State group broke away from long-time leader Abubakar Shekau in 2016.

Shekau’s Boko Haram group has tended to attack civilian targets, while the Islamic State West Africa Province faction has ratcheted up assaults on the military since July 2018.

Teenage Boy Stabbed To Death Over A Comment He Made On Facebook (Photo)

Teenage Boy Stabbed To Death Over A Comment He Made On Facebook (Photo)

Louis-Ryan Menezes

A teenager is on trial for murdering another boy following an online row. Louis-Ryan Menezes was stabbed through the heart with a combat knife in the attack in Kingsthorpe, Northampton, last May.

According to MetroUk , Nottingham Crown Court heard his alleged attacker, who cannot be named because he was 17 at the time of the offence, carried out the attack after ‘some things said on Facebook’.

Prosecutor John Lloyd-Jones QC told the jury: ‘As they approached each other, witnesses describe hearing Louis and the defendant saying again and again “What is it then? What is it then?”. ‘And as those words were exchanged the defendant suddenly and unexpectedly pulled out a large knife.

‘And with that knife, this defendant stabbed Louis straight in the chest.’

The defendant and another young man he was with then ran while one of Louis’ friends helped him to a nearby stairwell.

A post-mortem will reportedly show how the stab wound was one-inch deep and penetrated Louis’ heart. Meanwhile, the defendant – who was arrested in London four days after the killing – claims he stabbed Louis in self-defence.

Paul Mendell QC, defending,: ‘The main issue, in this case, is that the violence used by the defendant was not unlawful. He was acting in self-defence. ‘Ladies and gentlemen, you can strike the first blow if you genuinely believe you are about to be attacked. ‘And if you do genuinely believe you are about to be attacked, it doesn’t matter if you are wrong.’

China bans film industry from Asian awards ceremony held in Taiwan

China bans film industry from Asian awards ceremony held in Taiwan

China has banned its movies and actors from participating in Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards, one of the Asian film industry’s most prestigious honours.

The one-sentence announcement on China Film News, a newspaper affiliated with the government film regulator, gave no reason for the suspension, but it comes amid rising tensions over Taiwan’s refusal to recognise being part of Chinese territory to eventually be brought under Beijing’s rule.

We’ll tell you what’s true. You can form your own view.

From 15p €0.18 $0.18 USD 0.27 a day, more exclusives, analysis and extras.

Chinese participation was already in doubt following last year’s ceremony, which was marked by Chinese displeasure over remarks by documentary director Fu Yue.

In her acceptance speech, she called on the world to recognise Taiwan as an independent country, something only a handful of nations currently do.

Chinese participants refused to appear on stage, made pointed remarks about Taiwan and China being members of the same family and then declined to attend the banquet reception following the show.

Asked about the announcement, the organising committee told The Associated Press that it was disappointed but the show would go on as scheduled.

“The Committee regrets to be informed of the news, if it is confirmed. The jury process of Golden Horse Awards is ongoing and will continue as planned, and all Golden Horse events will take place as usual.”

Chinese entrants have been big winners at the show since they were first invited to attend in 1996, with China’s Xu Zheng winning best actor last year for his work in Dying to Survive.

Ms Fu set off a firestorm of criticism in China after she said during her acceptance speech that her biggest hope was for “our country” to be regarded as an “independent entity”.

Her film Our Youth in Taiwan won best documentary at the awards.

Taiwan split from mainland China amid civil war in 1949, but Beijing considers the self-ruled island part of its territory.

Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen, who is loathed by Beijing for her pro-independence stance, expressed her support for Ms Fu, saying in a Facebook post that the annual awards highlight the freedoms that set Taiwan apart from China.

“Here [in Taiwan] there aren’t people who will disappear or be silenced for expressing differing viewpoints,” she wrote, “and we also don’t have sensitive terms that are censored on the internet.”

Academy Award-winning Taiwanese director Ang Lee, whose films include Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Brokeback Mountain and who chaired the awards committee, appeared to anticipate the backlash to Ms Fu’s speech. He told reporters after the ceremony: ”I hope that no one will come to interfere [with the awards].”

Entertainment industry figures in Taiwan and Hong Kong have routinely been blacklisted and had their work banned from mainland China after they expressed pro-independence or pro-democracy views.

Along with cutting numbers of Chinese visitors to Taiwan, China has been luring away the island’s remaining diplomatic allies and preventing its representatives from participating in international gatherings.

Culture and sports events have also become targets, with Taiwan last year losing the right to hold the East Asian Youth Games, under reported pressure from China.

A drug dealer who used a Muhammad Ali quote to try and sell crack cocaine has been jailed.
Andreas Mason, 23, texted ‘float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, Creed is in town, three for 20’ to 66 phone numbers in April earlier this year, Gloucester Crown Court heard.
The flat where he was operating from was then raided and he was found to have £9,000 worth of crack cocaine hidden in the kitchen, as well as £512 in cash.
He was arrested and admitted being in possession of the drugs, but a trial was held to determine how involved he was in running the organised operation.
Charley Pattison, prosecuting, told the court that Mason ‘played a significant part’ in the Gloucester scheme.
However, she accepted that he did not play a ‘leading role’, instead describing him as ‘more of an errand boy’, who was only involved for three days before getting caught.
Mason told the court that he had previously lived at Clapham Junction and off Old Kent Road, where he created a debt of over £500 from his cannabis use. He said: ‘I didn’t have an income since I lost my job. I couldn’t borrow it from a family member because they couldn’t afford it.
‘My supplier was getting anxious and was told in April that I had to go to Gloucester to sell drugs to pay off my debt.
‘He said things would get worse if I didn’t accept and he threatened to harm family members if I didn’t go to Gloucester. I sold 20 lots of drugs from the flat.
‘I was working my debt off at £100 a day. I didn’t know anything about the operation before I arrived.’
Mason told the court he was made to feel under pressure by a ‘big man’ at the flat in Gloucester, who gave him a burner phone and told him he was ‘the line’.
He continued: ‘I was told to send out the message, “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, Creed is in town – three for 20” which was sent to 66 phone numbers.’
Max Mills, defending Mason, said data from his personal mobile placed him in Gloucester for the first time in April 25.COPYRIGHT

'Be quiet!': Trump mocks O'Rourke ahead of El Paso visit

President Donald Trump on Tuesday night mocked Beto O’Rourke’s performance in the Democratic presidential primary and commanded him to “be quiet" in the wake of a mass shooting in the former congressman's hometown of El Paso, Texas, where the president will visit Wednesday.

“Beto (phony name to indicate Hispanic heritage) O’Rourke, who is embarrassed by my last visit to the Great State of Texas, where I trounced him, and is now even more embarrassed by polling at 1% in the Democrat Primary, should respect the victims & law enforcement - & be quiet!” the president wrote on Twitter.

Trump earlier Tuesday evening confirmed plans to travel to El Paso and Dayton, Ohio, on Wednesday and “meet with First Responders, Law Enforcement, and some of the victims of the terrible shootings” in the two cities that suffered mass shootings just hours apart over the weekend.

While the motive for the Ohio killings is unclear, high-profile Democrats have partly blamed Trump and his incendiary immigration rhetoric for the violence in El Paso. The alleged gunman in that incident, a 21-year-old white man, is suspected to have authored and posted online a racist, anti-Hispanic manifesto before killing nearly two dozen people Saturday morning at a Walmart in the Southwestern border town, which is majority Latino.

O’Rourke, who has urged Trump to stay away from El Paso in the wake of the shootings, replied to the president online early Wednesday morning, tweeting: “22 people in my hometown are dead after an act of terror inspired by your racism. El Paso will not be quiet and neither will I.”

O’Rourke’s presidential campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-Texas), a Hispanic congresswoman who represents the vast majority of El Paso in the House of Representatives, has also requested that Trump not visit her district. “From my perspective, he is not welcome here,” she told MSNBC on Monday.

Biden says Trump's `toxic tongue' linked to U.S. mass shootings

Biden says Trump's `toxic tongue' linked to U.S. mass shootings

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Democratic presidential front-runner and former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden accused President Donald Trump of fuelling the white supremacy that's blamed for several mass shootings in the United States, according to a speech Biden was due to deliver on Wednesday.

Biden, 76, was scheduled to speak in Iowa after back-to-back mass shootings this past weekend in the United States. In the first, on Saturday, a gunman killed 22 people in El Paso, a Texas city on the border with Mexico. Law enforcement agencies say he apparently was driven by hatred for Hispanics.

In the second mass shooting, a gunman in Dayton, Ohio, killed nine people, including his sister, before he was killed by police.

Trump's rhetoric, including calling Central Americans trying to enter the United States "an invasion", and his hard-line immigration policies have exposed him to condemnation since the El Paso shooting.

"How far is it from Trump's saying this 'is an invasion' to the shooter in El Paso declaring 'his attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas?' Not far at all," Biden was due to say, according to an advance copy of his speech.

"In both clear language and in code, this president has fanned the flames of white supremacy in this nation."

Trump aides deny his rhetoric was a cause of the shootings. In a national address, the president proposed reforming mental health laws, working with social media to detect possible mass shooters and keeping guns away from people considered potentially violent. He plans to visit El Paso on Wednesday.

Biden is one of 24 candidates trying to become the nominee to take on Trump in next November's election. Iowa is among the first states to vote in the Democratic nomination process.

Biden was expected to invoke the rhetoric of previous Republican and Democratic presidents, including Republican George W. Bush and Democrat Bill Clinton, who he said "opposed hate".

In Trump, Biden was due to say, "we have a president who has aligned himself in the darkest forces in the nation. We have a president with a toxic tongue who has publicly and unapologetically embraced a political strategy of hate, racism, and division."

Cyntoia Brown, alleged sex-trafficking victim who killed man as teen, walks free after 15 years

Cyntoia Brown, alleged sex-trafficking victim who killed man as teen, walks free after 15 years

Nashville, Tenn. -–  A woman who said she was a 16-year-old sex-trafficking victim when she killed a man in 2004 was released from prison this week after being granted clemency, CBS affiliate WTVF reports. According to the Tennessee Department of Corrections website, Cyntoia Brown was released on parole.
Kim Kardashian West, Rihanna and other celebrities had lobbied for Cyntoia Brown's release, and then-Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam agreed in January. The now-31-year-old Brown will remain on parole supervision for 10 years after her release, on the condition she does not violate any state or federal laws, holds a job, and participates in regular counseling sessions, Haslam's commutation says.
In a statement released Monday, Brown said she wants to help other women and girls suffering abuse and exploitation. "I thank Governor and First Lady Haslam for their vote of confidence in me and with the Lord's help I will make them as well as the rest of my supporters proud," she wrote.
Her attorneys said she's requesting privacy and transition time before she makes herself available to the public.
Brown was convicted in 2006 of murdering 43-year-old Nashville real estate agent Johnny Allen. Police said she shot Allen in the back of the head at close range with a gun she brought to rob him after he picked her up at a drive-in restaurant in Nashville to have sex with her.
The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled against life-without-parole sentences for juveniles. But the state of Tennessee argued successfully in lower courts that Brown's sentence was not in violation of federal law because she would be eligible for parole after serving at least 51 years.
Kim Kardashian West touts criminal justice reform at White House
Haslam said that was too harsh a condition for a crime Brown admitted to committing as a teen, especially given the steps she has taken to rebuild her life. She earned her GED and completed studies with Lipscomb University as an inmate.
Brown met with prison counselors to design a plan for her release, which will include time in a transition center and continuing coursework with the Lipscomb University program, the state Department of Correction said in a news release.
Brown plans to have a book published in mid-October and a documentary about her is set to be released this year, the nonprofit documentary film group Odyssey Impact and Daniel H. Birman Productions Inc. said in a news release earlier this year.
Brown ran away from her adoptive family in Nashville in 2004 and began living in a hotel with a man known as "Cut Throat," who forced her to become a prostitute and verbally, physically and sexually assaulted her, according to court documents.
Brown's lawyers contended she was a victim of sex trafficking who not only feared for her life but also lacked the mental capacity to be culpable in the slaying because she was impaired by her mother's alcohol use while she was in the womb.

Mum wants daughter, 14, to get plastic surgery because 'ugly people get nowhere'

Mum wants daughter, 14, to get plastic surgery because 'ugly people get nowhere'

A mum who faked depression to get a nose job on the NHS wants her 14-year-old daughter to have plastic surgery too because 'ugly people get nowhere'.

Carla Bellucci, 37, from Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, says her girl Tanisha is not a natural scholar and instead encouraged her to work on her looks.

The mum-of-three made national headlines when she confessed to lying about depression in order to get taxpayers to pay for her nose job.

Carla has now told Closer magazine: "Tanisha isn't the most academic of girls, so I don't really care about her education, unlike with my boys.

"She will need to rely on her looks to get on in life so she will need to be perfect. Ugly people get nowhere these days.

"At the moment she loves the Kardashian look with the big bum and boobs and pouty lips. She's going to get fillers when she is 16, which I fully support."

She is encouraging her girl to get breast implants and teeth veneers, The Sun reports.

Carla would also back her girl if she wanted to have a Brazilian bum lift, a risky operation which claims the lives of one in 3,000 patients.

She told Closer that her daughter's bum 'needs improving', describing it as 'very flat', and said she is saving money to pay for her daughter to go under the knife.

However, the shameless mum admitted she would try to get the NHS to pay for her girl's surgery.

The mother spends about £200 a month on Tanisha's looks, investing in hair extensions, nail treatments and eyebrow tinting.

Tanisha is going to have fillers and botox when she turns 16 and then breast implants at 18, her mum said.

Carla made headlines back in June when she spoke of pretending to have depression in order to get a nose job on the NHS.

The former glamour model went to see her GP in a bid to get a slight bump on her nose smoothed out.

She says she then flirted with the doctor, who told her how to game the system by pretending she was having mental health difficulties.

“The funny thing is I’ve never had depression, never been prescribed medication for it or had any therapy," she told The Daily Star. "They didn’t check a thing.”

Carla had the two-hour operation at Chase Farm in Enfield, north London, part of the London Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust, in February.

The 37-year-old added that she 'didn't care what people say' about her 'milking the system' as 'that's what it's there for'.

She also said she would encourage her daughter to do the same thing if she was not happy with her nose.

Not everybody was impressed by Carla's admission.

After she went public with the rouse a petition was set up calling for her to be prosecuted. So far it has received 143 signatures.

Queen Elizabeth doesn’t want Meghan Markle to feel isolated like Princess Diana, claims royal expert

Queen Elizabeth doesn’t want Meghan Markle to feel isolated like Princess Diana, claims royal expert

Queen Elizabeth II has made “a particular effort” to make Meghan Markle feel incredibly welcomed as a member of the British royal family, Duncan Larcombe claims.

The award-winning British journalist and author told Fabulous on Tuesday that the reigning monarch is extending an invite to the 38-year-old on an array of royal engagements. The move is said to be an effort to ensure Markle doesn’t feel like an outsider as her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, felt when she joined the family.

“Meghan seems to have forged a particularly close relationship with the queen if you compare that to when other people have married into the royal family,” said according to Larcombe, who has spent more than 10 years working as a royal editor for The Sun newspaper in London.Queen Elizabeth and the Duchess of Sussex stepped out together on June 14, 2018.

Larcombe added it is an effort that “wasn’t afforded to Kate [Middleton],” when the Duchess of Cambridge married Prince William in 2011.

Markle, formerly an American actress, officially became a member of the British royal family when she married Diana’s son and William's younger brother, Prince Harry, in May 2018. The couple welcomed a son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, in May of this year.

Larcombe specifically pointed out Markle’s joint engagement with Elizabeth, 93, to open the new Mersey Gateway Bridge in Cheshire last June.An official wedding photo of Britain's Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, center, in Windsor Castle, Windsor, England, Saturday, May 19, 2018. “The queen, last year in the first few months of Meghan’s entry into the royal family, made a particular and slightly unusual effort to welcome her in,” Larcombe told the outlet. “Unusual in the context of the trip on the royal train to do a royal engagement. I am 99 percent sure she’s never afforded that offer to Kate.”

Larcombe explained this surprising move is likely stemmed from “lessons of the past” when Diana “pretty much felt like an outsider in the royal family.”

The claims come after reports insisted the monarch invited Markle to celebrate her 38th birthday at Balmoral Castle in Scotland over the weekend. The trip would have been Markle and Archie’s first trip to the Scottish castle and an invite from her grandmother-in-law was said to be a “great honor.”

According to the outlet, Elizabeth has spent every summer at Balmoral Castle since her childhood and it is said to be her favorite home.Queen Elizabeth II tours Queen Mother Square on October 27, 2016, in Poundbury, Dorset. (Photo by Samir Hussein/WireImage)

MEGHAN MARKLE TO WRITE CHILDREN'S BOOK: REPORT

Back in April of this year, royal expert Katie Nicholl told Fox News that the one person Markle quickly bonded with was the queen herself.

“I think what was most surprising, and refreshingly so, was how warmly included and accepted Meghan was,” royal expert Katie Nicholl told Fox News. “It was very important, I was told, to [Prince] Harry that he had the seal of approval from his father (Prince Charles), from his brother and his sister-in-law, but also from Her Majesty the Queen.”

According to Nicholl, it was crucial for Harry to get the queen's approval not just because of her status within the family, but because he developed a loving bond with his grandmother after he lost his mother in 1997.Princess Diana and Prince Charles on their wedding day in 1981.

“Harry has a very close relationship with his grandmother,” explained Nicholl. “He wanted the queen’s approval. It’s why he took Meghan to spend time in Windsor and a lot of their courtship was conducted in Windsor. It’s why he took Meghan to meet the queen at Buckingham Palace. I have been pleasantly surprised by how readily the queen, particularly, has welcomed Meghan into the royal family.”

While some critics have questioned whether Markle would be a welcoming addition to the family, Nicholl insisted Elizabeth has given the former “Suits” leading lady her official stamp of approval.

“I’ve been quite impressed by how much responsibility the queen has given Meghan,” Nicholl explained. “The queen likes Meghan. She recognizes how happy Meghan makes Harry, but she also sees how capable Meghan is as a royal. She showed them how much she thought of Meghan in the early days before they were actually married when she invited Meghan to be a part of the Commonwealth Day service. Quite an important event in the royal calendar. And there was Meghan before she was actually married into the royal family.”Meghan Markle and Prince Harry greet the press as they debut Baby Sussex. The couple met reporters at Windsor Castle, where they also met with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Nicholl claimed Elizabeth is so fond of Markle she did more than invite her to personal, intimate family gatherings leading up to the marriage — she put her to work as a future duchess.

“The queen put Meghan on that world stage before she was even a member of the royal family,” said Nicholl. "I remember being really struck by that, surprised and impressed. The way Meghan has been fast-tracked into the royal family has been quite unique.”

Perhaps Elizabeth could sense that her grandson was deeply concerned about what the future held for him before he met Markle through a mutual friend.Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

“Harry, at one point, was genuinely worried that he was going to be left on the shelf,” Nicholl previously told Fox News. “His brother was happily married with children. Many of his friends, who up until that point had been eternal bachelors, were getting engaged, getting married. I think Harry genuinely worried about that, and one of the reasons he worried about that was because he wanted to find his life partner, and he wanted to be a dad. Harry wanted children for a very long time.”

"Yes, I am running for president so that I can expose the criminals who hide behind fake posts and values," said Sfar, who has almost half a million social media followers.
The dancer vowed to lower the price of bread and ban the hijab and instead impose the traditional Tunisian headscarf known as the safseri if elected to the top spot.
She also pledged to fine men who fail to honour marriage promises and enact a law to give women two-thirds of inheritance, rather than the traditonal one-third.
"Tunisia will be better than Italy. It will become a country of art and freedom. People will no longer think about leaving the country," she was quoted as saying in local media.

The would-be candidates, include Prime Minister Youssef Chahed, former President Moncef Marzouki, Abdel Fattah Mourou, the vice president of Islamist party Ennahdha Party, and media magnate Nabil Karoui.

The campaigns are scheduled to run from 2 September to 13 September, with the preliminary results announced two days after the polls.
A date for the second round of presidential elections has not yet been decided, but the electoral commission said it would be held no later than 3 November.
