Princeton graduate got 30 years to life for murdering father after his allowance was cut

  • Thomas Gilbert Jr., the Princeton graduate who killed his father after his allowance was decreased, was sentenced to at least 30 years in prison for the crime.
  • A jury rejected an insanity defense as a judge in the Manhattan court handed down a sentence of life in prison with a possibility of parole after 30 years, which the New York Times noted is the maximum penalty allowed under the law.
  • Shelley Gilbert asked the judge for "as light a sentence as possible" so her son could receive treatment for a variety of his mental health struggles.
  • However, the judge rejected Gilberts' insanity defense, telling him that he "knew exactly what you were doing."

Thomas Gilbert Jr., the Princeton graduate who killed his father over a decrease in his allowance, was sentenced to at least 30 years in prison for the crime, according to multiple reports.
A jury rejected an insanity defense put forth by Gilbert and his family as a judge in the Manhattan court handed down a sentence of life in prison with a possibility of parole after 30 years, which the New York Times noted is the maximum penalty allowed under the law.
Gilbert was sentenced on September 27, nearly three months after he was convicted in Manhattan, and was ultimately found guilty of murder in the second degree and two counts of criminal weapon possession.
The then-29-year-old hedge-fund heir shot his 70-year-old father in the head in 2015 after being cut off from most of his $1,000 weekly allowance. Throughout weeks of trial proceedings, prosecutors insisted the murder followed a petty dispute over Gilbert's allowance.
A former girlfriend told the court before Gilbert was convicted that she recalled the heir becoming "scared" and "upset" when he discovered his father would reduce his allowance to just $300 per week.
"He was concerned about getting cut off financially," Ressner said, the New York Times reported in June.
However, Gilbert's mother repeatedly insisted that her son was at an unprecedented low in mental illness when he shot his father, and asked the judge ahead of the sentencing for a lenient timeline.
CNN reported that Shelley Gilbert said that she wanted her son "to be given as light a sentence as possible."
"As I've said many times in court, we've been trying to get Tommy into a hospital for 15 years," she reportedly said. "He's too sick to be able to judge. He needs to be in a hospital, had he been so my husband would still be alive."
However, the Times reported that Justice Melissa Jackson rejected the characterization, telling Gilbert that he "knew exactly what you were doing."
"You were not insane at the time you killed your father," she said, according to the Times. "You were not insane then. You are not insane now."
Throughout the trial, Gilbert's lawyers painted the picture of a troubled person who had been diagnosed with severe compulsive disorder, depressive disorder, paranoid disorder, and psychosis.
His lifelong place among New York high society also came into play during the proceedings, as emails and internet records depict his mental health and financial status crumbling amid a paid-for Manhattan apartment and memberships at exclusive health and social clubs.

Meghan Markle is seen in public wearing a headscarf for the first time

The Duchess of Sussex today donned a headscarf as she joined her husband at South Africa's first and oldest mosque.
To mark Heritage Day, a public holiday in South Africa celebrated on September 24 when the nation recognises its culture, diversity and traditions, the Duke and Duchess paid a visit to the Auwal Mosque in Bo-Kaap, Cape Town, where they met faith leaders before going on a walkabout in the district.
Meghan had changed out of her casual clothes and covered her head with a scarf and wore a long gown that swept the floor. Prince Harry also stopped to take his shoes off before heading inside.
The couple were met by Imam Sheikh Ismail Londt and Muslim community leader, Mohamed Groenwald and will meet with a group of faith leaders, including a representative of the Church of England, the Chief Rabbi and Jewish, Christian and Muslim youth leaders, as well as students who participated in the London-Cape Town interfaith exchange.
Built in 1794 during the British occupation of the Cape of Good Hope, the Auwal Mosque is the first and oldest mosque in South Africa.
This morning the couple heaped praised on each other's parenting skills as they labelled one another 'the best mum' and 'the best dad'.  The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrive at Auwal Mosque, the first and oldest mosque in South Africa

This morning the couple visited Monwabisi Beach on the outskirts of Cape Town, to learn about the work of Waves For Change, which helps vulnerable children from township and challenging communities through the power of surfing.
They also heard about the Lunchbox Fund, one of four charities to benefit from public donations made following the birth of their son Archie, who has joined his parents in South Africa for his first official royal tour.

Royal couple visit the first and oldest mosque in South Africa

The Auwal Masjid is the first and oldest mosque built in South Africa.
Leaders at the mosque say this is backed by evidence within 'very strong oral tradition' which confirms that Imam Abdullah Kadi Abdus Salaam, also known as Tuan Guru, was the first Imam at the Masjid.
The Auwal Masjid came into existence in 1794 during the first British occupation of the Cape of Good Hope and was the main religious institution during the years 1804 until 1850.
It is also the first to have practiced most of the Cape Muslim traditions.
The Auwal Masjid is a symbol of the struggle of Cape Muslims for the recognition of Islam and their freedom to worship.
The mosque was built on land belonging to the freed slave Coridon van Ceylon.
The Duchess swerved royal protocol as she shared hugs and jokes with youngsters before the couple were asked to declare their personal strengths during a 'power hand' bonding exercise - but Harry cheekily ducked the task and invited his wife to share instead.
Meghan, 38, looked bashful as she tried to think of something and laughed as she said dancing as not her strong point, but suggested parenting was a new strength that she and Harry, 35, were 'learning and developing'.
Turning to her husband, she declared him 'the best dad', while Harry - who smiled and looked his wife in the eye with a loving 'ahhh' - called her 'the best mum' before they shared a tender kiss in front of the crowd.
They left in separate cars as new mother Meghan went back to the High Commissioner's residence to look after four-month-old baby Archie while Harry travelled on a South African Maritime Police Unit RIB to Kalk Bay Harbour.
The couple had travelled to the picturesque beach setting to learn how surf mentors are helping youngsters in need.
They copied the young surf mentors as they took part in an 'energising' 'Hey Joe' game, involving finger clicking and chanting.
And there was even time for a little meditation, which Meghan - who has long been a proponent of daily mindfulness, as has Harry - took part in particularly enthusiastically closing her eyes and clasping her fingers.
Harry later visited Kalk Bay Harbour, to learn about their work combating the poaching of abalone, a type of sea snail that is at critically low levels, as a plate of the marine delicacy is worth more than its weight in gold - £420 a plate - to Chinese diners.
Asked what was the most pressing global issue when it came to dealing with the stigma around mental health, Meghan replied: 'It's just getting people to talk about it and talk to each other, right?
'And you see that no matter where you are in the world, if you're a small community or a Township, if you're in a big city - it's that everyone is dealing with a different version of the same thing.
'Globally I think there's a bit of a consciousness crisis, and so the fact we're able to be here together to see on the ground so much good work that's being done, just because people are willing to talk to each other about it and someone's willing to listen is huge.
'And that can apply to being here, certainly can apply to being in London, LA - doesn't matter where you are, we're all sort of trying to power through and find some optimism.'

Five incredible reasons Chelsea fans are convinced N’Golo Kante can’t be human and is actually a robot

Five incredible reasons Chelsea fans are convinced N’Golo Kante can’t be human and is actually a robot

IT IS a favoured joke football fans have been using for the past four years:
Seventy per cent of the Earth is covered with water and the rest by N'Golo Kante. N'Golo Kante's rise to one of the best in the world hasn't been human

2
N'Golo Kante's rise to one of the best in the world hasn't been human
The midfielder made history by winning back-to-back Premier League titles with Leicester and Chelsea, before lifting the 2018 World Cup with France.
But Blues fans on Reddit are convinced that the 28-year-old's rapid rise to success can be explained because he is a product of Artificial Intelligence.

N’Golo Kante doesn’t celebrate

The supporter starts by writing: "Kante has scored 15 league goals in his career. Upon analysing these goals, it is clearly evident that he doesn’t celebrate.
"N’Golo Kante is programmed to run back as soon as he can to his half to prepare for the opposition kick-off.
"Kante has scored against Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham, in which are Chelsea’s rivals. Some goals scored against these teams are high-quality finishes in which a striker could dream of scoring.
"Kante doesn’t have any emotion when celebrating and immediately tries to get back as soon as he can, no time-wasting, to carry on playing football.
"This alone shows he is a product of AI as he may not have been programmed to celebrate."
Kante's lack of celebrations have also been noted by the French national team, with Steven N'Zonzi revealing that he was "too shy" to hold the World Cup.

N’Golo Kante is extremely fit

The France international is renowned for his tireless work on the pitch, with manager Frank Lampard staggered by the ground he covered despite minimal training in the Super Cup last month.
And the Reddit fan added: "Kante is clearly the fittest player in the Premier League, and arguably in the world.
"His French team mate Pogba has even been quoted as saying “N’Golo Kante has 15 Lungs”.
"Kante covers the most ground ahead of his team mates and doesn’t appear to tire out even when playing in extra time."

N’Golo Kante has an extremely private life

The Chelsea man once proved he is football’s Mr. Nice Guy after he accepted a fan’s dinner invite - where they cooked him a curry, chatted, played Fifa and watched Match of the Day - starring Kante himself.
And earlier this month, SunSport exclusively revealed that he was the guest of honour at the wedding of a Blues supporters wedding.
And the third point online was: "Kante has not been pictured with members of his family or any potential spouse. As soon as Kante has finished training or a game, he heads home and disappears until training or a match.
"As footballers clearly love the limelight and fame their career provides, as Kante may be a product of AI he isn’t programmed to enjoy fame."
Unfortuntately for robot fans, the humble star was pictured enjoying Leicester's title-winning triumph with his beaming family members.
N'Golo Kante helped Leicester to their historic title triumph in 2016

N’Golo Kante wanted to run to training

Jamie Vardy famously revealed Leicester's squad once had to convince Kante that he should drive to training, with the Frenchman convinced he could just run.
And one Chelsea fan said this was proof of artificial programming by saying: "Why would a machine use another machine to get somewhere when he can just use his infinite fitness and speed?
"Obviously his AI doesn’t see the logic in that."
While Kante's team-mates roll-up in luxury cars, Kante turns up in the second-hand Mini Cooper he bought when he joined Leicester three years ago.
Last year he collided with a lorry but still drove the patched-up Saloon into training.
Kante himself said of his modest motoring habits: "I’ve never been someone who loves a car and when I was young I didn’t have the ambition of a car or something like that."

N'Golo Kante's injuries are scheduled upgrades

Lampard claimed at the start of the season that Kante's four years of playing continuously are starting to take their toll.
He had an injection in his knee to allow him to play in last season's Europa League final and spent much of pre-season in rehab as a result.
Kante has since suffered with an ankle problem during his campaign but returned for the defeat against Liverpool, where he scored Chelsea's only goal.
And fans are convinced that this proves that his recent injury woes are more to do with scheulded maintaince:
"He was scheduled for an upgrade recently, that's why he was missing for the start of our season.
"He came back, rejoined the team, received the ball in midfield, his new updated AI processor told him that there wasn't a meaningful pass, so he dribbled into the box and shot, and scored against Liverpool
"Try convincing me that was a human playing. I won't believe you!"

Woman Told She Has Two Vaginas Gives Birth To Miracle Twins

Woman Told She Has Two Vaginas Gives Birth To Miracle Twins

PA Real Life
A woman who was told she might not be able to have children because she was born with two vaginas has given birth to miracle twins.
Lauren Cotter, 34, was diagnosed with uterus didelphys when she was just 16 after suffering from agonising menstrual cramps as a teenager.
Doctors warned Lauren the condition – which sees women born with two uteruses, two cervixes and, in her case, two vaginas – may impact her ability to carry and deliver a child, due to the reduced size of her wombs and cervixes.
However, despite the odds stacked against her, the 34-year-old fell pregnant with her first child – five-year-old Amelie – at the age of 28, and two years later fell pregnant with Harvey, three.
Lauren then fell pregnant again, this time with ‘miracle’ twins Maya and Evie, who were conceived while she was fitted with the contraceptive implant. All three of her girls were carried in her right womb while Harvey was in her left.
The mum-of-four insists her condition has never affected her sex life with her husband, 33-year-old policeman Ben, and says she was ‘open and honest’ with him about the possibility of her not being able to have children from the beginning.
Luckily, she explained, Ben ‘wasn’t bothered,’ and after talking it through they both agreed there was more than one way to have a baby if they wanted it badly enough.Woman with 2 vaginas has twins

The couple found it ‘easy’ to fall pregnant though, and Lauren took a positive pregnancy test in October 2013 a year into their marriage, after just one month of trying.
The mother explained:
We decided to give it a go, and just see what happened. We knew it might be a bumpy road and tried not to get our hopes up too much. Just a month after we started trying, I bought a stack of pregnancy tests and started taking them weekly.
Then one morning, I had a test to hand, and there on the stick was a very, very, faint blue line. I couldn’t be sure, so I took a test each morning that week, and each day the line got darker and darker until I was sure – we were pregnant.
Although she fell pregnant quickly, Lauren had been warned by doctors that being able to safely carry a baby to full term might not be possible, given that her wombs were half the average size. However, the pregnancy went smoothly and baby Amelie was delivered by C-section in 2014.
Lauren and Ben then decided to start trying for baby number two 18 months later, and she once again fell pregnant within a couple of months. Following another problem-free pregnancy, which saw the fetus grow in the left womb this time, the couple welcomed Harvey to their family.Woman with 2 vaginas has twins
PA Real Life
It was only when she fell pregnant for a third time – this time while fitted with the contraceptive implant, which is more than 99 per cent effective – that doctors decided they needed to keep a close eye on Lauren for the sake of her health and the twins she was carrying.
Concerned about how long the mum would be able to carry twins due to her condition, doctors put her on strict bed rest from 19 weeks onward.
She explained:
My doctor was very honest and said he couldn’t know how the pregnancy was going to play out.
Little Maya and Evie were delivered via caesarean section in June last year, but Evie was rushed to intensive care just hours after their arrival after she began struggling with her breathing.
The newborn underwent keyhole surgery at just five days old because she was born with her intestines in the chest cavity, with her parents warned she had just a 50 per cent chance of survival. However, she miraculously recovered and was ready to come home after just three weeks.Newborn in hospital

Now 15 months old, the twins are happy and healthy – although Lauren revealed she requested that her fallopian tubes be removed during her final C-section to prevent her from falling pregnant for a fourth time. ‘Ben and I are one super fertile couple, and now we’re happy with things just as they are,’ she added.
Uterus didelphys affects around one in 3,000 women and occurs when the uterus fails to fuse properly when the fetus is developing in the womb. A few months after her diagnosis, Lauren had laser surgery to remove the dividing wall between her two vaginas to enable her to enjoy a normal sex life.
One year later, she met Ben at the age of 17 and they haven’t looked back since, with Lauren saying intimacy has never been a problem for the pair.
Congratulations to the happy couple!

Media Drum World
A self-confessed ‘diehard’ tanner who used tanning beds up to six times a week was left with a gaping hole in her nose after developing skin cancer.
When Rebekah Rupp from Morrison, Oklahoma, was in her teens and twenties, she loved the confidence that being tanned gave her and used tanning beds anywhere up to six times a week to achieve a healthy glow, despite people warning her of the dangers.
When Rebekah Rupp from Morrison, Oklahoma, was in her teens and twenties, she loved the confidence that being tanned gave her and used tanning beds anywhere up to six times a week to achieve a healthy glow, despite people warning her of the dangers.
Now the 41-year-old admits she rarely took care of her face and just used wipes and pads to cleanse her skin. It wasn’t until five years ago when Rebekah started to work for a skin care company to earn some extra money that she discovered the importance of using an SPF.Tanning Addict Left With Hole In Nose After Developing Skin Cancer

In August 2018 Rebekah noticed a dark spot had appeared on her cheek, so she went to her dermatologist in December to get it checked out. It was then the dermatologist noticed a white spot on the tip of Rebekah’s nose which he removed immediately and sent off for testing.
She explained:
I had a dark spot appear on my cheek, so I made an appointment with my dermatologist to have it looked at.
I was a diehard tanning bed tanner. In my earlier years, I tanned at least five to six times a week. I was told by others it was bad for me, but until it happened to me – I never listened.
I loved the way tanning made me feel. It relaxed me, it made me feel pretty, and it gave me a glow that I loved.
The teacher was told that she had basal cell carcinoma skin cancer and she underwent Mohs surgery in June this year to remove the affected layers of skin.
Rebekah was left with a hole in her nose which doctors repaired with a flap of forehead skin, which attached a vein from the forehead to the nose. She wore the flap for four weeks before having her final reconstructive surgery in July.
She continued:
As soon as I went in for the dark spot, the dermatologist spotted a white looking mole on the tip of my nose. He asked me how long I had it, it had only been there for about two months or so, I thought it was just a pimple that wouldn’t go away.
He acted very concerned about the way it looked, and immediately removed it to send it off for results. I was very scared. Hearing the word cancer hurts. It’s the worst feeling in the world, because in the back of your mind you are thinking death.
Once I had the mole removed and sent off to be biopsied, I was then sent to a specialist in Oklahoma City that dealt with my procedure that needed to be done. The procedure is called the Mohs surgery, where they remove thin layers of cancer-containing skin and examine it until only cancer free tissue remains.
After they had removed all the skin cancer from my nose, I was sent to a reconstructive surgeon for surgery to repair my hole in my nose. The surgeon did a forehead flap where they take a vein that has good blood flow from the top of the head and they attach it to the nose. I wore the flap for four weeks and I then had another surgery to remove the flap from my nose.

Following on from her surgery, Rebekah still has some swelling but she’s sharing her experience to encourage others to use sun protection.
Since her surgery and skin cancer battle, Rebekah takes extra care of her skin, wears sunscreen every day without fail and wears a hat when she’s in the sun. She also makes sure her children are well protected and always have sunscreen in their bags.
She said:
Protect your skin while you have it. Don’t tan in tanning beds or expose your skin to sun exposure without using sunscreen and wearing protection on your head.
I now use Rodan + Fields every day, twice a day. I apply sunscreen in the mornings no matter what. When I go out in the sun, I apply sunscreen all over any skin showing. I also wear a hat when out in the sun.
My bag contains every sunscreen you can imagine from sprays to lotions. I lather my kids in sunscreen because they have a light complexion like myself. Both now carry sunscreens in their sport bags and are very consistent in putting it on.

Now Rebekah is urging everyone to protect their skin so they don’t have to go through a similar experience.
She said:
My first advice to everyone is wear sunscreen. If you can’t find a sunscreen, I can hook you up, but truthfully any sunscreen is better than none.
Also, make it a habit to go to the dermatologist at least once a year. If you have any concerns about any spots on your body, go get it checked out.

Florida Cop Suspended After Arresting Girls Aged 6 And 8 In Two Separate Incidents

Florida Cop Suspended After Arresting Girls Aged 6 And 8 In Two Separate Incidents

Police officer suspended after arresting six and eight year old

CBS News

A Florida police officer has been suspended after arresting a six-year-old and an eight-year-old in two separate incidents on the same day.

The Orlando Police Department began conducting an internal investigation after school resource officer Dennis Turner arrested the two children last week.

Officer Turner found it necessary to handcuff Lucious and Emma Nixon Academy pupil Kaia Rolle, 6, after she kicked a staff member.

The student reportedly has a sleep condition which led to her acting up in class and she lashed out at the staff member as they attempted to hold her wrists and calm her down.

Kaia was arrested and charged with battery before being processed at a juvenile detention centre, though she did return to school the same day.

The six-year-old’s arrest was the second Officer Turner had made that day, though the reason for the eight-year-old’s arrest has not been released.

The Orlando Police Department’s policy requires an officer to get the approval of a watch commander before arresting anyone under the age of 12, however the school resource officer did not follow this procedure.Handcuffs police officer

According to Click Orlando, Orlando Police Chief Orlando Rolon explained the transport officer taking the eight-year-old to the juvenile detention centre ‘was not aware an approval was not obtained’.

He continued:

The 8-year-old was processed through the Juvenile Assessment Center. The child was released to a family member a short time later.

Rolon said Officer Turner’s duties have been suspended pending the outcome of the internal investigation.Florida Grandmother Six-year-old arrest

Speaking of the arrests, Rolon said:

The Orlando Police Department has a policy that addresses the arrest of a minor, and our initial finding shows the policy was not followed.

As a grandparent of three children less than 11 years old, this is very concerning to me. Our department strives to deliver professional and courteous service. My staff and I are committed to exceeding those standards and expectations.

Kaia’s grandmother, Meralyn, expressed outrage at her granddaughter’s arrest, saying ‘no six-year-old child should be able to tell somebody that they had handcuffs on them.’Florida Grandmother Six-year-old arrest

Speaking to Click Orlando, the grandmother said she tried to explain Kaia’s sleep condition to the officer but he was unsympathetic.

She recalled:

She has a medical condition that we are working on getting resolved, and he says, ‘What medical condition?’

‘She has a sleep disorder, sleep apnea,’ and he says, ‘Well, I have sleep apnea, and I don’t behave like that’.

Officer Turner has been assigned to the Reserve Officer Program while the investigation is underway.

Games played on the computer are not meant for fun alone. These days, young learners can learn basic math skills, among others, as they play games from electronic gadgets. Students cognitive and troubleshooting skills are greatly enhanced as they find solutions that would help them move from one game level to the next. These ICT games exist to help children learn as they play.

Prisoner ‘Confesses’ To ‘Making A Murderer’ Killing

Prisoner ‘Confesses’ To ‘Making A Murderer’ Killing

Netflix

A Wisconsin prisoner has allegedly confessed to the murder of Teresa Halbach, a case made famous through Netflix’s Making A Murderer.

The series details how Manitowoc County resident Steven Avery was accused and ultimately put behind bars for the 2005 murder, though it sheds light on inconsistencies in the investigation to suggest the 57-year-old may have been set up by corrupt law enforcement officers.

Making A Murderer became hugely popular after the first season was released in 2015, followed by season two last year, with many fans convinced Avery was wrongly accused.

Filmmaker Shawn Rech was one of millions to watch the show and in an interview with Newsweek he admitted he felt ‘angry with law enforcement’ and ’embarrassed as an American’ for what happened to Avery.

After conducting his own research into the case he felt he had been misled by the series.Steven Avery

In an attempt to tell the ‘whole story’, Rech is creating his own series, titled Convicting A Murderer, which will include parts the Netflix series left out.

The creator claims he got the confession while filming the series, though it did not come from Avery or his nephew Brendan Dassey, who was also convicted for the crime.

Instead, it came from a Wisconsin inmate who has not been named but is said to be a ‘notable convicted murderer’.

Though the legitimacy of the confession has not yet been verified, the filmmaker is passing it on to Wisconsin law enforcement.

He told Newsweek:

We haven’t confirmed the legitimacy of the confession, but seeing as it was given by a notable convicted murderer from Wisconsin, we feel responsible to deliver any and all possible evidence to law enforcement and legal teams.

Having been in production for 20 months, we’ve uncovered an unfathomable amount of information and evidence that is leading us to the truth. Our investigation does not end here.

If the inmate’s confession is found to be reliable it could exonerate Dassey and Avery, both of who have already spent more than a decade behind bars. Avery is serving a life sentence without parole, while Dassey, who is also serving a life sentence, currently will not be eligible for parole until 2048.

Watch the Convicting A Murderer trailer below:

The two men fought their charges; Dassey took his case all the way to the Supreme Court, where his attempt at a new trial was rejected, while Avery continues the appeal process.

Avery’s lawyer, Kathleen Zellner, has spent years recreating parts of the crime scene and collecting evidence in an attempt to prove the wrong person was convicted. Earlier this month, she offered a $100,000 reward for the real killer.

Zellner’s law firm told Heavy they knew of the person who had confessed, stating:

The inmates [sic] name is familiar to us but I do not want to release it yet. We were contacted a week ago by the inmate. He mailed the handwritten confession to us before he contacted the production company.

The confession occurred solely because of our 100k reward offer and had nothing to do with the production company. When we did not immediately respond to this person he called the production company.

Zellner added on Twitter:

We received the handwritten confession on Saturday. It is worthless unless it is corroborated.

Woman Bites Camel’s Testicles At Truck Stop While Trying To Save Dog

Woman Bites Camel’s Testicles At Truck Stop While Trying To Save Dog

It was just another day for Caspar the camel until a woman chomped down on his bollocks.
The bizarre incident occurred on Thursday (September 20) at a Louisiana truck stop about 20 minutes outside Baton Rouge.
While stopped at the roadside attraction, the woman’s husband was throwing treats for their dog under the fence of the camel’s enclosure. As reported by The Advocate, Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office said this led to the pup crawling inside the dromedary’s den.Camel

Panicking as the dog roamed the camel’s enclosure, the couple went in after him. Unfortunately, the woman didn’t get very far – the camel used her as a cushion, sitting down on top of and crushing her.
As the clock ticked, the woman took desperate action: she bit down on the camel’s genitals to get him off her.
Iberville Parish Deputy Louis Hamilton Jr said:
She said: ‘I bit his balls to get him off of me, I bit his testicles to get him off of me.’

A subsequent investigation found the couple had provoked Caspar before he plonked his butt down on the woman.
According to the San Diego Zoo, male dromedaries can weight up to 600kg when fully-grown – so it’s not like a big dog was sitting on the woman.
Deputy Hamilton Jr added:
The camel did nothing wrong. [The couple was] aggressive. The camel was just doing its normal routine.
The camel has never been aggressive, the camel has never gotten out, never caused any issues. In fact, the husband and wife stated before that we’ve been here before and we’ve never had any problems.
Employees at the truck stop did not face charges as a result of the incident, as the attraction was enclosed sufficiently and clearly signposted with warnings to stay out.
However, the unnamed couple were cited with a leash law violation for letting the dog run free on the private property, as well as criminal trespassing.
Deputy Hamilton Jr added:
My only question to her husband was: ‘Why did you throw the doggy treat under the fence?’ And he just said: ‘I wasn’t thinking.’
Pamela Bossier, manager of the truck stop, said the couple should have called for help instead of taking matters into their own hands by crawling under the enclosure’s barbed wire.Camel

Bossier claims the woman’s husband shoved the camel when inside the pen, which inevitably spurred the animal to take some sort of action.
Bossier told The Advocate:
Any animal you provoke, they’re going to strike back. [Caspar] is really a gentle giant.
Biting down on a camel’s balls is strange. But disturbing and provoking an animal due to your own stupidity – that’s nuts.
