For boxing fans it is one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year. But Anthony Joshua’s heavyweight fight against Andy Ruiz Jr is also rapidly becoming the most controversial.

Joshua will earn a career-high fee of about £60m when he faces Ruiz in the ancient Saudi Arabian city of Diriyah, on the outskirts of Riyadh, on Saturday. He insisted this week that the country was “trying to do a good job politically”.

However, human rights groups have reacted with horror and warned the British boxer he is being duped by a regime trying to “sportswash” its international image.

Felix Jakens, Amnesty International UK’s head of campaigns, said that while they never expected Joshua to be an overnight expert, “if you’re fighting for big money in a country with a human rights record as bad as Saudi Arabia, then you’d be well advised to counter criticism by speaking out about human rights issues”.

“The fight is pure sportswashing and that’s why it’s so important to challenge the Saudi propaganda machine and its increased use of sport to gloss over its abysmal human rights record.”

Jakens added: “Joshua has a record of supporting charities here in Britain and we’d hope he’d be prepared to voice concern for people like the jailed Saudi women’s rights activist Loujain al-Hathloul.”
Hathloul was among at least a dozen women arrested last year as Saudi Arabia ended a ban on women driving cars, for which many of the detainees had long campaigned.

The Saudi Arabian government says that hosting the “Clash on the Dunes” – the first heavyweight title fight to be staged in the Middle East – is part of an initiative to get more people active, boost living standards, and open up the kingdom to tourists.

Its sports minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Saud, said “no country is perfect” but Saudi Arabia had made drastic reforms in the past two years, such as allowing women to drive and attend sporting events unaccompanied, as part of its “Vision 2030” plans.
Those plans include bringing sport worth billions of pounds to the kingdom, including Formula E motor racing, European Tour golf and the Spanish Super Cup football.

“We want to host as many events as we can, to feed our strategy and promote diverse sports in the kingdom,” he said. “We’re showcasing that, hopefully, if we do bid for them one day, we can host an Olympics or a football World Cup.

“Around 70% of the population is between 15 and 40 years old. They see what is happening around the world through social media and they want to see it happening in the kingdom.”
But Jakens said the prince’s remarks completely ignored “the ongoing human rights crackdown, with the jailing of peaceful activists and the near-total crushing of Saudi civil society”.
“It’s all well and good the Saudi sports minister smiling for the cameras ahead of a glitzy, multimillion-pound boxing match, but he must know that people are being arrested on a regular basis in Saudi Arabia simply for daring to voice criticism of his government.”

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, said the fight was just the start of things to come. “They want to make Saudi the home of boxing,” he said. “This really feels like a really big moment where everything could change.
“If they’re going to be investing this kind of money in the sport, we’ve got to be realists. Everyone’s coming and they’re all coming for one reason – they want the money.”

Speaking exclusively to Fabulous Digital, Michala, from Bury, Greater Manchester, said: "It's absolutely crazy.
"We used to do all the presents on the one day so there was a trampoline for their birthday with banners on it and then separate Christmas presents.
"I worried that they would miss out but then their dad, Paul, officially donated his June birthday to them – so they could celebrate twice, in June and at Christmas."

The 41-year-old customer service advisor added: "We have a big party on Paul’s birthday on June 4, when people bring presents for all three of them.
"The girls absolutely loved it, when they were little, they actually believed they had two birthdays – just like the Queen.
"For me, it’s just a chance to celebrate and to be together as a family, which is always lovely.
"This year, we’re planning to mark their birthdays again on Christmas Day, Holly will be five years old, and Poppy will turn four.

"It will be hectic, but we’ll have a party a couple of days before so they don’t get lost in all the festivities and we will have separate piles of presents.
"I think I will spend almost £1,000 on the girls’ joint celebrations. And I imagine as they get older, it will get dearer and dearer each year."

Michala had two kids from a previous relationship - Ryan and Olivia - before meeting Paul six years ago, while he is also dad to sons Tyrone and Nathan.
She said: "We wanted a baby together so when I fell pregnant, midway through 2014, we were thrilled."
The customer services advisor's due date was January 26, 2015.
But the pregnancy was deemed high risk after Michala's first child, a little girl, tragically died from an embolism at just four weeks old in 1996.

She said: "I was always anxious throughout the pregnancy, and I had low blood platelets. So the doctors decided to induce the birth early, on December 22."

Michala's labour lasted three days, meaning she ended up giving birth on Christmas Day - and called her daughter Holly because of the festive date.
She said: "It was so lovely. I was allowed home on Boxing Day and it was the best Christmas I could have wished for, obviously I had no idea at all it was going to be repeated."
To her surprise, Michala fell pregnant again just three months later - with a due date of January 17.
Once again, her platelets were low so she was induced three days before Christmas.

Michala said: “This time, I was really desperate to get home for Christmas Day, but again, the labour dragged.
"I was going to call the baby Evie, so I wanted her to come on Christmas Eve.
“But the baby had other ideas, and she arrived at 2am on Christmas Day 2015, weighing 5lbs 5ozs. So we decided to call her Poppy instead.
"I felt a bit upset being in hospital as I was missing Holly's first birthday and Christmas. I couldn't believe it was happening again. I said to them 'I can't have another baby on Christmas Day'."

It is the stuff of financial nightmares. You get one digit wrong on the sort code, and send a huge amount of cash to the wrong person. They refuse to return it, and the bank washes its hands of the matter, blaming you for the mistake.

That’s what happened to Peter Teich in a case that reveals shocking lapses in Britain’s banking system. Just hours after a solicitor sent the Cambridge resident his £193,000 inheritance after the death of his 100-year-old father, it became apparent that a terrible mistake had been made.

Teich had given his correct name, address and Barclays account number in Cambridge to his solicitor – but the wrong sort code. The money went straight to another Barclays customer, also in the Cambridge area who, alarmingly, had an account with the same number as Teich, though a slightly different sort code. Worse, the person refused to return the money. Barclays knew where his £193,000 was sitting and, Teich says, knew when the recipient dishonestly began to withdraw the cash.

From the end of March next year, name checks will be carried out when UK bank customers send money to other people.
The move is designed to tackle the rapidly-growing problem of bank transfer fraud. But there has been criticism of the fact that it has been delayed – it was originally set to start last summer, according to reports.

At the moment, anyone wanting to transfer money is asked for the recipient’s account name, account number and sort code. However, it’s typically the case that the bank does not check if the account name is correct.
The so-called “confirmation of payee” system that is being introduced from 31 March 2020 will mean customers can check they are paying the right person. When a customer sets up a new payment, their bank etc will be able to check the name of the person or organisation they intend to pay against the actual name held on the account.

There will be three possible outcomes. If they used the correct account name, they will receive confirmation that the details match, and can proceed with the payment.
If they used a similar name to the account holder, they will be provided with the actual name to check. They can then update the details and try again, or contact the intended recipient to check the details.

But if the customer enters the wrong name for the account holder, they will be told the details do not match and advised to contact the person they are trying to pay.
The mistaken transfer – called “misapplied funds” in banking parlance – could not have occurred if UK banks matched up sort codes and account numbers with the account holder’s name. But they do not. A recipient’s name could be given as Mickey Mouse and the bank would still process the payment, using the sort code and account number alone.

The banking industry promised that from mid-2019 name checks would be carried out when customers sent money to other people, largely to halt a rising tide of bank transfer fraud. But the timetable was delayed, and it will now not come into force until the end of March next year.

An oddity in Teich’s case is that Barclays also appeared to have identical account numbers for two different customers, both in the Cambridge area.
Teich realised the error almost immediately. His father’s estate was divided with his sister, who emailed him at noon on the day of the transfer, 26 April, to say she had received her £193,000. Teich checked his account, found nothing there, and contacted his solicitor. Only then did he discover he had given the solicitor the wrong sort code. 

The solicitor immediately contacted Barclays, which said the money would be restored within a week, according to Teich. But in late May, Teich received a bombshell letter from Barclays: “Due to an error on your part, the funds were applied to another customer … clearly you were mis-advised about the funds being restored to your account, and in recognition of this, I have credited your account with a small token gesture of £25.”

Barclays said it asked the person who received the cash for permission to return the money, but he refused. In a letter a few days later to Teich’s solicitor, it said: “Regrettably we have not been able to gain permission from the recipient of these funds for them to be returned to you. As there has been no error here on the part of the bank, we cannot just simply return the funds.” Barclays would not provide the name of the person who received the cash. No one is legally entitled to keep money that has been wrongfully credited to their account. But compelling them to return the money, particularly if it is spent, is another matter. Barclays, in common with other banks, will not even provide the name of the person who has received the cash, unless it is instructed by a court.
Some Guardian readers may recognise Teich’s surname, as his father, Mikuláš – from whom he inherited the £193,000 – was the subject of an obituary in the paper in April. Mikuláš escaped from Nazi-held Czechoslovakia in 1939, although his parents perished in the Holocaust. He later became a renowned historian of science at Cambridge.

Despite being 74 and disabled, Peter Teich was left on his own to recover his father’s £193,000. “Barclays insisted that I bear the full and sole responsibility of pursuing their own dishonest customer,” he says. He hired lawyers and went through an expensive and laborious two-stage legal process. In June, after £12,000 in legal and court fees, he got the other Barclays customer’s name. Armed with this, he then went to the high court to obtain a freezing injunction – at a cost of £34,000. Finally, after an “unnecessary, expensive and stressful process”, the court order forced the other Barclays customer to repay the cash.

“I freely acknowledge my mistake in this unhappy saga: I provided the sort code of the wrong Barclays branch. But my error fades into near insignificance when considered in the context of Barclays’ conduct,” says Teich.

The saga did not stop there. Teich asked Barclays to refund the £46,000 in legal costs he racked up simply to recover his own money. Barclays refused. Angered by the bank’s reply, Teich contacted the Guardian for help. We asked it to reconsider his case, and in an almost immediate U-turn, it has now agreed to pay all his legal fees, and has offered him £750 in compensation.

In a statement the bank said: “It is evident that on this occasion we have failed to meet the high standards that Mr Teich can expect to receive from Barclays, and for this we have offered our sincere apologies. After taking a closer look at this situation, we can confirm that Mr Teich can expect the fees he has incurred to be refunded in full with interest, together with a payment for the distress and inconvenience this matter has caused.”

Teich is jubilant he will now no longer be out of pocket. But he regrets Barclays’ behaviour. “It could have taken Barclays a few days to recover the misdirected funds, but instead they did nothing. They could have saved me and everyone else all this stress and anxiety. Had the confirmation of payee measures been in place at the time of the transfer, I would not have gone through the costly process of recovering my funds. All the same, Barclays could have done the right thing and intervened when there was still time to do so.”

At least 15 people have been killed and around 60 others wounded after gunmen opened fire on protesters in Baghdad, Iraqi security and medical officials have said.

Security sources said they could not identify the gunmen and no group has claimed responsibility.

The attack came as anti-government demonstrators occupied parts of Jumhuriya, Sinak and Ahar bridges in a stand-off with security forces.
All the bridges lead to or near the heavily fortified Green Zone, the seat of Iraq's government.
"We are under live fire now with electric power cut, the wounded and martyrs are here and the bullets were fired in Sinak Bridge," one protester told Reuters.

The attack on Friday came a day after a series of suspicious stabbing incidents targeting protesters left at least 13 wounded in Baghdad's Tahrir Square, the epicentre of Iraq's protest movement.
Those attacks, carried out by unknown perpetrators, occurred as demonstrators supporting political parties and Iran-backed militias withdrew from the square.

At least 400 protesters and a dozen members of the security forces have died since the uprising started on 1 October, with thousands of Iraqis taking to the streets in Baghdad and the predominantly Shia southern Iraq.
The protesters are calling for an end to corruption, poor services, lack of jobs and the political system that was imposed after the 2003 US invasion.

Meanwhile, Iraq's top Shia Muslim cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali al Sistani has said a new prime minister must be chosen without foreign interference in an apparent nod to Iranian influence.
It comes a week after Iraq's prime minister, Adel Abdul-Mahdi, said he would resign over the protests.

In his Friday sermon in the city of Kerbala, Mr al Sistani said "we hope a new head of government and its members will be chosen within the constitutional deadline" of 15 days since Mr Mahdi's resignation was formalised in parliament on Sunday.
"It must also take place without any foreign interference," he added.

London Bridge attacker Usman Khan’s body to be buried in Pakistan

The body of London Bridge terrorist Usman Khan has been flown to Pakistan to be buried, it has been reported.

The 28-year-old’s body was released by the City of London coroner and flown to relatives in the country, local officials told Sky News.

A cousin of Khan, who was shot dead by police after killing two Cambridge graduates in a knife rampage on November 29, told the news site his parents and other close family members would bury him in their home village of Kashmir.

The convicted terrorist's parents wanted to keep the burial "low key" and didn’t want to bury him in the UK “because they were scared,” the cousin told Sky News.

It is understood a pre-burial ritual known as a Janaza was carried out in a Birmingham mosque before Khan’s body was flown to Islamabad International Airport.

It comes after the terrorist’s UK-based family, who live in Stoke, said they were “saddened and shocked” by his actions which they “totally condemned”.

In a short statement released on Tuesday, via the Metropolitan Police, they said: "We totally condemn his actions and we wish to express our condolences to the families of the victims that have died and wish a speedy recovery to all of the injured.

"We would like to request privacy for our family at this difficult time."

Jack Merritt, 25, and Saskia Jones, 23, were both stabbed to death by the 28-year-old during a prisoner rehabilitation event at Fishmongers' Hall.

Khan, who was living in Stafford, was given permission to travel into the heart of London by police and the Probation Service.

Armed with two knives and wearing a fake suicide vest, he was tackled by members of the public, including ex-offenders from the conference, before he was shot dead by police.

The three injured survivors of the attack have been discharged from hospital and are “recovering well”, medics said today.

The City of London coroner declined the Standard's request for comment on the alleged repatriation of Khan's body.

A filmmaker has said that rape is “not a serious thing” and that women should “co-operate” if they are being raped.

Daniel Shravan, an Indian filmmaker, made this shocking statement while reacting to the death of Priyanka Reddy, 27, a vet who was raped by a man who offered to help her last week when she got a flat tyre. Her charred body was found under an overpass near Hyderabad in India last week.

Following her death, Daniel Shravan tried to explain why “non-violent” sex attacks should be legalised. He also said that women should carry condoms in preparation for being raped and they should “co-operate” with their rapist.

Daniel Shravan said: “Rape is not a serious thing, but murder is inexcusable.”

He also said, “the government should legalise rape without violence for the safety of women.”
Shravan argued that women were being killed because they fought back or used pepper spray on their rapists. He added that men are killing women because they are frustrated sexually.

He said: “Rapists are not finding a way to get their bodily sexual desires and getting these killing thoughts. An evil thought provokes crime (Killing). Better, women should accept Men’s Sex.”

He added that Indian women should be “aware of sex education” including “carrying condoms and dental dams” so they can use them if they encounter a rapist.

Shravan also said that the Indian government was frightening rapists. He said laws that punish rapists after victims report them cause most rapists to kill their victims in order to silence them.
His comments were roundly condemned and he later deleted the post after people said they would boycott his films.

One person said: “What kind of sick mentality does he have? Disgusting and disturbing. I am tired of this misogyny and victim blaming.”

An ‘evil’ pedophile couple who raped their two year-old daughter and plotted to rape their unborn baby have been jailed for life Gerrad Coddington, 25, and Christina Nelson-Coddington, 29, of Pauls Valley in Oklahoma, were handed whole life terms for sex crimes against children on Monday.

They will never be given the chance to apply for parole. They handcuffed, beat and raped their toddler daughter, and shared twisted plans to do the same to their unborn baby in online messages.

The pair were sentenced by Judge Leah Edwards for 29 child sex crimes including r.a.p.e, child abuse, incest and manufacturing child s*x abuse images. Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter called the Coddingtons’ crimes the worst he has ever seen.

He said: ‘These two individuals engaged in horrifying acts of abuse and violence with innocent children… ‘The actions of these two individuals, with regard to the children who were subjected to these horrific acts, unconscionable, unforgivable.

Hunter added: ”These are evil people who presented a danger to society. I commend Judge Edwards’ decision to hold them accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

‘I applaud the investigators with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the investigator in my office with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the attorneys who worked on this case to achieve a successful result.’

In a shocking incident, a fish has been removed alive from the nostril of a boy after a 3-hour-long surgery by doctors.

Interestingly, the fish was alive until it was removed. The fish entered when the boy was taking his bath in a farm well. The strange incident took place in the Pudukkottai district in Tamil Nadu., India.

According to sources, S Arul Kumar (12) of Mannavelampatti near Annavasal in Pudukkottai went for a bath along with his friends in a farm well near his house last Tuesday evening. Arul then sensed that something had entered his nose, and soon developed severe pain.

He was then rushed to the Annavasal Gemeral Hospital around 10 pm and the duty doctor, Kathiravan, who checked the boy’s nostrils, confirmed a fish being stuck inside Arul’s nose.

After a three-hour-long ‘operation’ the doctor removed a live ‘tilapia’ fish from the boy’s nose, but it died soon after. The doctor observed that the trapped fish could have even caused a threat to Arul’s life.

The boy after an hour’s medical observation was sent back home.

Moscow (AFP) - Investigators said Tuesday that two sisters who killed their father after years of abuse should face murder charges in a case highlighting Russia's dire record on domestic violence.

Three Russian sisters -- Krestina, Angelina and Maria Khachaturyan -- stabbed their father Mikhail to death in July, 2018 after suffering years of beatings and sexual assault.

They were 17, 18 and 19 at the time.

Russia's Investigate Committee said in a statement on Tuesday that it had completed a probe into the killing and was recommending charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder against the two older sisters, Krestina and Angelina.

The probe established that the sisters, acting as a group, stabbed their father with a knife and beat him with a hammer, causing fatal injuries.

It pointed to "mitigating circumstances" but said the two older sisters were of sound mind and aware of their actions at the time of the attack.

They face up to 20 years in prison if convicted. Investigators recommended that the youngest sister, Maria, should enter mandatory psychiatric care.

Lawyers and activists say the teenagers were forced to act to save their own lives, pointing to poor legal protections for abuse victims in a country where a separate law on domestic violence still does not exist.

Mari Davtyan, a lawyer for Angelina, told AFP the case should not go to trial in its current form.

She said the sisters "used reasonable force in self-defence".

The pair were also pictured together alongside First Lady Melania in Palm Beach, Florida in 2000 at a party also attended by sex offender Epstein and his then-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.

They feared Trump might say something controversial, but he insisted: 'I'm staying out of it.'

He denied the NHS would be on the table in post-Brexit trade talks, as claimed by Jeremy Corbyn and his 450-page leaked document, saying: 'If you handed it to us on a silver platter, we want nothing to do with it.'

An Indian MP has called for the men who raped and murdered a young veterinarian to be 'brought out in public and lynched', after the victim's called for the monsters who committed the horrific crime to be burned alive.

The body of Priyanka Reddy, 27, was found charred under an overpass near Hyderabad in India after she was raped and murdered by men who had offered to help her with a puncture last week.

Priyanka was on her way home when she was gang-raped and killed near Hyderabad and her body was dumped and burned 15 miles away.

Four men have since been arrested, including lorry driver Mohammed Pasha.

MP Jaya Bachchan prescribed a strong punishment for the perpetrators of the crime, saying in Parliament on Monday: 'I know it sounds harsh, but these kind of people should be brought out in public and lynched.'

1,300-year-old chess piece : Oldest chess piece in the world discovered in Jordan

Oldest chess piece in the world discovered in Jordan

A 1,300-year-old chess piece carved out of white sandstone found in Jordan could be the oldest in the world, according to archeologists.
The figurine was excavated in a desert region of southern Jordan in 1991, among the ruins of the historical Islamic trading post of Humayma.
"This shape is standard for early Islamic pieces right through the 13th-14th Century," said John P. Oleson, professor of archaeology at the University of Victoria in Canada.

Oleson headed the archaeological mission in the 1990s which unearthed the ancient chess piece, and presented his findings at the annual meeting of the American Schools of Oriental Research in San Diego, California.

At first Oleson and his team thought the small, two-horned object was an altar from the Nabatean civilisation.
Now the archaeologist says his research point to the carving being a "rook" or "castle" chess piece.
As the relic is made out of local Sandstone, Oleson believes its owner must not have been from a high social class, making chess a more egalitarian sport than once believed.

"In the literature, naturally they talk about the elites playing with chess pieces made of ivory, ebony, gold or rock crystal," Oleson said.
"The world of low-class players doesn't appear in that kind of literature so it's good to have an archaeological record."
The historic Humayma trading post is found between modern day Petra, which was the capital of the Nabatean kingdom, and the Red Sea port city of Aqaba.

"Since the game probably was carried westward from India by the movement of merchants and diplomats, it is no surprise that early evidence for it should be found at a site on the busy Via Nova Traiana," writes Oleson in his reacher paper’s abstract about the trade route which was key to Nabatean society.

Chess became a game to unite those from different religions and classes amongst the population living in Humayma, and proved "very popular in the early Islamic world", Oleson said to Science News.
Despite these findings, there are other objects which may contest the title for the world's oldest chess piece.
Figurines found in 1977 in Uzbekistan are dated to 700AD and others were dug-up by archeologists in Albania in 2002 that were deemed to be sixth-century ivory piece from a Byzantine palace.

These resemble modern chess pieces, with crosses carved on the top of the figurines but critics contest that they date a time before the recorded existence of chess.

Juventus defender, Giorgio Chiellini, has claimed that Real Madrid denied Cristiano Ronaldo a sixth Ballon d’Or last year, by rigging the votes.

Ronaldo, who moved to Juve from Real in the 2018 summer transfer window, finished as the runner-up in the 2018 ceremony, behind his former Blancos team-mate Luka Modric.
This year’s Ballon d’Or was won by Lionel Messi, who lifted the trophy for the sixth time to go one ahead of Ronaldo’s five titles.
Speaking at the ceremony in Milan, Chiellini said: “It’s ok that Messi has won the Ballon d’Or this year.

“The real theft was last year, Real Madrid decided that Cristiano should not win the Ballon d’Or. It was really strange.
“Cristiano won the Champions League, [but I suppose] by that logic Van Dijk should have won it this year.
“Maybe last year Griezmann, Pogba or Mbappe should have won for doing extraordinary things at the World Cup. Modric made no sense.”

Tata Altroz will be officially revealed tonight by Tata Motors. Before that, Tata Motors has officially uploaded a glimpse of what the all-new Altroz will look like in production form. The Altroz is the first-ever premium hatchback from the brand that will take on the likes of Hyundai Elite i20 and Maruti Suzuki Baleno in the Indian market. Tata has revealed the front-end of the vehicle before officially announcing the specs and other details about the vehicle later this evening.
Tata Motors will officially start accepting the bookings for the all-new Altroz in Indian market tomorrow. However, the car will officially launch in January 2020. It will follow the same launch strategy that the brand followed during the Tata Harrier launch. Since it is a Tata product, the vehicle will be priced quite competitively and it is expected to undercut the price of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno in the market.

The all-new Tata Altroz is the first vehicle that will utilise the ALFA platform of the brand. The same platform will also underpin a host of Tata products in the future in the upcoming compact SUV, which is currently codenamed as Hornbill.

The video uploaded by Tata Motors is from Jaisalmer, where the official media drive is taking place. The vehicle in red colour in the video is likely to be the top-end variant. It reveals the official alloy wheels that look like 16-inches in size. The dual-tone, precision-cut alloy wheels look quite good on the vehicle. The video also reveals the front-end design of the Altroz that gets sleek headlamps that are integrated into the grille itself.

The headlamps have LED DRLs on the extreme corners that add the uniqueness to the vehicle. Just below the headlamps, large fog lamps are located, which give a sense of split headlamps. The images are shared by Nikhil Bhatia on Twitter.

The Altroz gets a straightforward window line that ensures that the rear passengers get large windows and airy cabin feeling. The rear of the vehicle that cannot be seen in the video, gets a very sleek look and a black stripe that connects both the LED tail lamps.

Talking about the engine options, the Tata Altroz will get two different engines at the start. There will be a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that also powers the Tata Tiago. The engine will be tuned down for the Altroz. The diesel engine powering the Altroz will be the 1.5-litre unit that also powers the Nexon. Initially, only manual transmission options will be available with the Altroz but at a later date, automatic options will be added too.

The 1.2-litre petrol engine generates a maximum power of 86 PS and peak torque of 113 Nm. It gets two engine drive modes – Eco and City and there is a five-speed manual transmission.

The diesel engine powering the Altroz is the 1.5-litre unit that generates a maximum power of 90 PS and peak torque of 200 Nm. It gets a six-speed transmission. The top-end version of the Altroz gets features like 7-inch TFT infotainment system with 4-speakers from Harman, 16-inch alloy wheels, front disc brakes, projector headlamps, 7-inch TFT display on the instrument cluster and more.

The Avengers’ main storyline may have come to an end in Avengers: Endgame this past April, but the first trailer for Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow is a reminder that Marvel Studios isn’t done with its original crew.

Black Widow is the highly anticipated stand-alone movie focusing on Natasha Romanoff’s blood-stained past. The movie takes place in the two year gap between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. That also explains how Marvel can do a Black Widow movie in the first place, considering Romanoff sacrifices herself to ensure the Avengers can secure the Soul Stone in an effort to take down Thanos.

Although this is the first trailer released to the public, a lengthier version was shown off at Disney’s biennial D23 fan convention in August. The trailer focused on Romanoff’s trip to Budapest — a location that Clint Barton (Hawkeye) referenced multiple times in various Avengers movies, including Endgame. This trailer contains an impressive scene between Romanoff and a woman named Yelena Belova. Belova becomes the second Black Widow in the comics series, and is referred to as Romanoff’s sister in the trailer.

Johansson is one of the last original Avengers to receive a solo project

Fans have waited a long time for a Black Widow stand-alone movie. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige first mentioned that conversations about a stand-alone Black Widow movie were ongoing back in 2010, following the release of Iron Man 2 and just before 2012’s The Avengers. Johansson’s Black Widow made her first appearance in Iron Man 2 as Pepper Potts’ assistant-turned-lethal-assassin-and-SHIELD-spy, and developed the role further in The Avengers. Feige and other Marvel executives reiterated throughout the years that both the company and Johansson were interested in doing a spinoff movie, but nothing was officially announced until 2018.

Johansson is one of the last original Avengers to receive a solo project. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth all starred in multiple individual movies (Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor respectively), while Jeremy Renner is set to have his own Hawkeye series on Disney+. Mark Ruffalo is the only original Avengers cast member who can’t have his own Hulk movie, as Universal Pictures owns the rights to any stand-alone Hulk movie. Feige and the team developed a three-picture arc for Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner that took place over Thor: Ragnarok, Infinity War, and Endgame instead.

Black Widow will mark the beginning of Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 when it’s released on May 1st, 2020. The Eternals will follow on November 6th.

HOUSTON (AP) — James Harden’s performance on Saturday night was enough to make even those who see him put up gaudy numbers night after night step back and marvel at his work.
Harden scored a season-high 60 points in 31 minutes and the Houston Rockets sent the struggling Atlanta Hawks to their 10th straight loss with a 158-111 romp.

"It’s like everything else he does — unbelievable," coach Mike D’Antoni said.
Harden came one point shy of matching his career high and franchise record on a night he made eight 3-pointers and 20 free throws. He watched the entire fourth quarter from the bench with Houston up 127-73 at the end of three.

"What he’s doing has not been seen," teammate Austin Rivers said. "My man had 60 and didn’t play the fourth quarter. Name another player who could do that right now."
It was Harden’s fourth career 60-point game, tying him with Michael Jordan for third-most in NBA history, trailing only Kobe Bryant (six) and Wilt Chamberlain (32). Harden is the only active player who has scored 60 points more than once.

But as usual he wasn’t interested in talking about reaching 60 points while spending an entire quarter on the bench.
"Nope," he said before walking off and repeating the word two more times.
The Rockets were missing starters Clint Capela and Danuel House because of illnesses, but still had no trouble handling an Atlanta team that hasn't won since Nov. 12 thanks to Harden’s huge night.
"We try to do what we have to do against James, which is throw a lot of bodies at him," Hawks coach Lloyd Pierce said. "Try and put him under duress. He just didn’t feel us."

Atlanta was never really in this one and was down by 20 points or more for most of the game. The flat effort came a night after the Hawks fell by one point in overtime to the Pacers in a game where Trae Young tied career highs with 49 points and eight 3-pointers.
Young led the Hawks with 37 points and had five 3-pointers, but it wasn’t nearly enough to offset Harden’s game.

The Rockets raced out to a 14-5 lead and had stretched their advantage to 81-52 by halftime behind 31 points from Harden for their third 80-point first half in franchise history.
As good as Harden was in the first two quarters, it was nothing compared to how he dominated in the third. Houston was up 83-56 early in the period before he scored all of the team's points in an 18-3 run that made it 101-59 with seven minutes left in the period.
Harden made three 3-pointers and was fouled on 3-point attempts three other times in that stretch. He had eight assists, three rebounds, three steals and blocked a shot to go along with his 60-point effort.

After the third quarter, Harden was sitting on the bench with a towel draped over his shoulders when he was shown on the video board with a note that said he was two points shy of setting his career high. Harden looked at the screen, read the note and pointed at it while opening his mouth wide in fake shock as if to say, "I was so close," before smiling broadly.
"Yeah, I was playing with the fans a little, but honestly I didn’t know," he said. "But we played a really good game those first three quarters so it was an opportunity for other guys to play minutes that they’ve earned."

There were a few half-hearted chants of "Harden! Harden!" midway through the fourth quarter from a few fans who hoped to see Harden come back in to make Rockets history. But D’Antoni kept the bearded superstar on the bench with the game well in hand.

Rockets — Isaiah Hartenstein received a flagrant foul-1 in the second quarter when he fouled Young hard near the neck. ... Capela missed the second straight game with his illness and House sat out for the first game with his illness. D'Antoni said he hopes both players can return on Tuesday night. ... Westbrook had 15 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. ... Houston’s 158 points were the second-most the team has scored this season. ... Ben McLemore scored 24 points and had 13 rebounds.

MORE HARDEN: He’s the third player in 25 seasons to have 60 points in three quarters, joining Klay Thompson in 2016 and Bryant (2005). Saturday was the 20th 50-point game of Harden’s career, which is the fourth-most in NBA history and eight more than any other active player.

A clip from Dakota Johnson's recent appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" went viral over the holiday weekend in which the "50 Shades" star calls out DeGeneres after being accused of not inviting her to her birthday party.

The actress sat down with DeGeneres for Wednesday's episode of her show to promote her latest movie, "The Peanut Butter Falcon," and the talk show host brought up Johnson's 30th birthday party that happened back in October and wondered why she wasn't invited to attend.

"How was the party? I wasn’t invited," DeGeneres asks Johnson in the clip.
"Actually, no, that’s not the truth," Johnson replies with a knowing smile. "Ellen, you were invited. No, last time I was on the show last year, you gave me a bunch of sh-t about not inviting you, but I didn’t even know you wanted to be invited."

The actress was alluding to her appearance on the show from the previous fall, during which she dispelled rumors that her 29th birthday party was actually a gender reveal party (she's been dating Coldplay frontman Chris Martin for a few years now.), when DeGeneres called her out for attending her own star-studded bash without giving her an invitation to hers.
"Well, who wouldn’t want to be invited to a party?" DeGeneres responds, before Johnson shoots back, "Well, I didn’t even know you liked me."

"Of course I like you. You knew I liked you," DeGeneres says, defending herself. "You’ve been on the show many times and don’t I show like?"
"But I did invite you, and you didn’t come, so…" Johnson trails off, as Ellen appears confused. "This time you invited me?"
"Yeah," Johnson says.
"Are you sure?" DeGeneres asks.
"Yeah," Johnson says again.
DeGeneres was skeptical that she received the invitation, so Johnson tells her to "ask everybody -- ask Johnathan, your producer." When someone from behind the scenes confirms that she was indeed invited, Ellen says, "Oh yeah, I had that thing."
"It [the party] was probably in Malibu. That’s too far for me to go to," DeGeneres then says, before Johnson confirms the location of her star-studded bash.

"No, I think I do remember, I was invited," the host concedes. "Thank you!"
Naturally, Twitter had a field day with the playfully tense moment between the two stars on "The Ellen Show."
So, what was the "thing" that Ellen had that weekend? Well, Johnson's party was held in Malibu, California, on Saturday, October 5, where the likes of Miley Cyrus, Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey, Jr. were on-hand to celebrate her turning 30. The next day, DeGeneres made headlines for attending a Cowboys game in Dallas, Texas, with her wife Portia de Rossi, George W. Bush and wife Laura Bush.

The authorities in New Orleans are investigating a shooting that left at least 10 people wounded early on Sunday during a weekend of a popular football game that draws many visitors.

The shooting, which happened on Canal Street, left two of the victims in critical condition, the police said.

Officers near the scene of the shooting reported hearing gunfire around 3:21 a.m., the police said. They found multiple individuals had been shot. No officers were injured.

The police said on Twitter that a person was detained near the scene but that the individual’s “possible involvement” in the shooting remained under investigation, and that no arrests had been made. It was not clear what had motivated the shooting.

Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA), who sits on the House Judiciary Committee, asserted on Sunday that acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and former National Security Adviser John Bolton ought to testify in the committee’s upcoming impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump.

“If the courts rule in the future that senior officials like John Bolton, Mick Mulvaney could testify, do you believe they should?” ABC News host Martha Raddatz asked McClintock during an interview on “This Week.”

“Absolutely,” the Republican lawmaker replied. “And in fact, yeah, it would be to the President’s advantage to have them testify now.”
“But of course he has to weigh that against the enormous catastrophic damage that would do to the doctrine of executive privilege that assures that when policy is being developed within the administration, those discussions are unfettered, are candid, are thinking outside of the box,” he added. “That’s why the doctrine of executive privilege exists.”

McClintock also suggested it was in Trump’s interest to have his personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, testify in front of the committee.
“Again, I think more information is better than less in every aspect of an inquiry and the adversarial process is very important to test what’s true and what’s not,” he said.

Bolton and Mulvaney have declined to comply with the House impeachment investigation thus far. Bolton has filed a lawsuit to allow the court to decide whether he should follow the White House’s order to ignore investigators’ request to testify, and the hearing for the case is scheduled for December 10.
Mulvaney attempted to latch onto Bolton’s lawsuit, then gave up on the effort several days later.

U.S. District Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson ruled last week that former White House counsel Don McGahn must obey the House’s subpoena despite the White House’s orders, but Bolton’s lawyer argued that the decision did not apply to his client’s case.
The Judiciary committee will hold its first hearing on December 4.

Refresh for latest…: The Frozen 2 blizzard continued at the global and international box office this weekend with the Disney sequel now minting $738.6M worldwide and $451M overseas through Sunday. The offshore hold was -38 for a $163.8M weekend, and Elsa continued her No. 1 reign in 45 open markets.

This comes after a record-setting global debut last weekend and with new bows in Russia, Italy and Australia, including setting the highest animated weekend of all time in the former at $13.7M. To date, F2 has become the highest grossing animated title ever in Indonesia and the Philippines. 

Also of note, the sequel has also already surpassed the lifetime cume of the first Frozen in 11 material markets including China. There, it is at $90.5M, despite local competition. There are still a handful of hubs to come before Brazil on January 2.

John Legend Wishes His 'Queen' Chrissy Teigen a Happy 34th Birthday

John Legend continues to set the bar for what it means to be the perfect husband.
On Saturday (Nov. 30), the R&B crooner -- who was recently named People's "Sexiest Man Alive" -- shared a sweet tribute to his "queen" Chrissy Teigen on her 34th birthday.
"Celebrating my Queen's birthday today," Legend captioned a beautiful photo of his wife. "I love you more than ever and I'm so grateful for the life we've built together. Thank you for making every day so amazing. Happy birthday, Chrissy!"
The couple married in 2013 and share two children together, 3-year-old daughter Luna and 18-month-old baby boy Miles.
Legend and Teigen have recently been making headlines following the singer's "Sexiest Man Alive" announcement -- mostly for Teigen's constant trolling of her husband. Earlier this month, Teigen played a hilarious prank on Legend while he was guest hosting The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and more recently she changed her Twitter bio to read, "currently sleeping with people's sexiest man alive."
